Morris Place Block Party!

Neighborhood Watch and Crime Prevention

We've been alerted to a recent vehicle break-in on the property, and we encourage residents to be on the lookout for any unusual activity, such as someone:

  • Driving slowly and repeatedly around the community
  • Observing community activity from a van parked in the visitor parking area (contractors are likely to do paperwork or make phonecalls if they can't start on a job straight away)

If you see someone who seems out of place, let us know. Call the police if you suspect illegal activity or "casing" in the neighborhood.

What you can do to help reduce break-ins at Morris Place

There are a few additional precautions you can take to prevent theft:

  • Always lock your doors and close your garage.
  • Never keep belongings in plain view inside your vehicle.
  • Park your vehicle in your garage or driveway. Burglars are more likely to attempt a break-in if you're parked in a lot, especially one that isn't well lit.
  • Put stickers or signs from your alarm company in your windows, by your doors, or in the plant bed near your unit. Police say that these are a big deterrent.

What we're doing to help reduce break-ins at Morris Place

Here's what we're doing to help reduce theft and property damage:

  • Looking into improving the lighting in the Visitor Parking areas and along the streets
  • Being on the lookout ourselves for suspicious activity
  • Encouraging residents to identify and report suspicious behavior
